I was born in Frisco, Colorado when my dad was an engineer on the Lake Dillon Dam project. I grew up in Golden and went to Golden High School. I graduated from University of Colorado in Boulder with a business degree. After college I taught skiing at Copper Mountain and taught in other outdoor education programs, which led me to want to go into education. I moved back to Golden and built a house with my husband Chuck. We have one daughter, McKenzie, who is a junior at the University of Colorado. I still love to ski and be outdoors. I ended up teaching skiing for over 20 years and even taught a season in New Zealand. I got my endorsement in Gifted and Talented education while working at a gifted center program in Jeffco. I am excited to be at Maple Grove and meet lots of new people. My favorite thing is coming up with ideas to help support students at all levels. I love to see students get excited about learning and pursue their passion areas.
